GABRIELA USA condemns the issuing of warrants of arrest and criminal accusations on GABRIELA National Executive Committee members, Joms Salvador and Gert Libang, and leaders of Karapatan and Rural Missionaries of the Philippines made by General Hermogenes Esperon.
They posted bail five days before the global commemoration of International Women’s Day on March 8, when women the world over take the stage of resistance to demand rights and liberation for toiling women.
“This is entirely why women continue to fight, despite repression and attacks, because we have the right to speak and tell the truth, and no one, not even macho-fascist leaders should be allowed to wrest that right away from us.
